Trees for Troops

FedEx is a proud Supporter of Trees for Troops. With their help Pleasant Ridge Farm in Rantoul, Kansas is able to provide trees to military families in need.Memory Lane supports and participates in the Trees for Troops program. Trees for Troops is a program where Christmas tree growers proudly donate trees to military bases across the country. At the base, the trees are distributed to military families that might not be able to afford a Christmas tree.

Share the Spirit

In 2012, over 800 growers in 29 states donated over 18,000 Christmas trees that were distributed to nearly 70 military bases in the U.S. The program is operated by the Christmas Spirit Foundation, a charitable foundation setup by the National Christmas Tree Association.

Memory Lane donates trees as well as picks up trees from other tree farms and delivers them to the collection point in Wichita where a FedEx truck delivers them to military bases. It takes a great deal of overhead to coordinate all those trees and make the arrangements for the military to accept them.

The Pleasant Ridge Farm trees for troops bear helps us raise money for the foundation with the generous donations from the Northeast Kansas, Ottawa, Wudora, Paola, Lawrence, Olathe, and Kansas City area. How You Can Help

Memory Lane supports the Trees for Troops program by helping raise the funds to pay for the staff work involved. In 2012, Memory Lane sold pinup cards for donations to the Trees for Troops program.

Memory Lane also created a Trees for Troops Bear, an 8 inch teddy bear in uniform, that we sell at the tree farm. We also wholesale the bears to other tree farms across the country. Four dollars from the sale of each bear goes to the Christmas Spirit Foundation to support the Trees for Troops program.

Join us this holiday season in spreading cheer and providing Christmas for those in need.
